Non-construction volunteers may serve as site hosts. Site hosts sign construction volunteers in and out, provide them with beverages and snacks, and clean up after lunch. (Suzy Dolan/SCHFH) |
Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us in building simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. Although the vast majority of volunteers have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction.
Working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of homeownership.

Don't Like Hammers?
There are also plenty of non-construction volunteer opportunities. Be sure to check out the Non-Construction page to learn about different ways to help with the Habitat mission. With a minimal staff, SCHFH depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like Family Selection, Family Support, Public Relations, and Construction Skills Training.
