Our Veteran Services
Home Repair
Our home repair program is for veterans who are current homeowners. Services include improving accessibility, safety and health issues in the home.
Qualifications include:
- Ability to pay 5% of the home repair costs.*
- Complete 20-60 hours of “sweat equity” (volunteer hours in the office or on the construction site).
- Attend 8 hours of education classes to include financial and home maintenance.
- Must make between 30-80% of the area’s average income.

*Senior veterans age 50 and up are not required to pay back any of the costs.
Homeowner Education
We offer free financial education, home maintenance and general life skills classes that are offered to all veterans.

Veteran Volunteer Groups
Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity offers volunteer opportunities for veterans to share your leadership skills, learn new skills and help a fellow veteran.

New Homeownership
Our homeownership program is for veterans who are first-time homebuyers looking for a hand up, not a handout.
Qualifications include:
- Must make between 30-80% of the area’s average income.
- Contribute 250 hours of sweat equity.
- Attend 50 hours of education classes to include financial and home maintenance.
